R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The alumni of Central High School in Parkin, 
Arkansas, are holding a reunion in San Antonio on June 23-25, 2005, 
and this memorable occasion is indeed worthy of special note; and
	WHEREAS, From its founding in the late 1940s to the 
graduation of its last senior class in 1970, Central High served a 
vital function in the community, educating students to face the 
challenges and opportunities that lay ahead; and
	WHEREAS, The desegregation of the Parkin school system marked 
an end to Central High's official history, but the happy memories 
and influential experiences that shaped the lives of its alumni and 
the camaraderie among the faculty, students, custodians, and bus 
drivers continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those 
associated with the school; and
	WHEREAS, Fond recollections are sure to be the order of the 
day at the San Antonio reunion, as old friends revisit an important 
touchstone in their common history, and the laughter and tears that 
such memories evoke are among the most precious gifts of shared 
experience; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby welcome the alumni reunion of Central High 
School in Parkin, Arkansas, to San Antonio and extend to 
participants sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable 
visit.
