R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Timothy Daniel Jackson of Boy Scouts of America Troop 5 has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, bestowed on only a fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. Jackson earned 26 merit badges, including those requiring expertise in such diverse areas as insect study, archery, and space exploration; moreover, he successfully completed an Eagle Scout project that involved securing and erecting a flagpole for the Texas Girls' Choir at Eagle Mountain Lake; and WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career; in addition to earning the Arrow of Light award, he has served his fellow scouts as venture crew vice president, quartermaster, assistant senior patrol leader, and patrol leader, winning their respect and admiration as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers; and WHEREAS, His scouting career has also been highlighted by his 10 years of service in the Tejas District Colorguard and participation in three gubernatorial inaugural events and two presidential inaugurations; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Jackson's dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and it is most appropriate that he be honored at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Timothy Jackson on becoming an Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
