R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, March 31, 2005, marks the retirement of Captain Danny Eugene Procknow from the New Braunfels Fire Department, drawing to a close an outstanding 32-year career with the City of New Braunfels; and WHEREAS, Joining the New Braunfels Fire Department on February 1, 1973, Captain Procknow became a certified firefighter on January 31, 1974, and a firefighter master on July 17, 1992; he also earned the basic emergency medical technician certification; and WHEREAS, Captain Procknow was named the New Braunfels Fire Department Firefighter of the Year for 1997 and 2004, an honor no other individual has ever received twice; and WHEREAS, Sharing his experience and expertise with others, Captain Procknow is an instructor for San Antonio College and for the Emergency Services Training Institute, Municipal Fire School of The Texas A&M University System; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Danny Procknow has enjoyed the love and support of his family, including his wife, Tracey, his children, Shannon Johnson and Andrew Procknow, and his grandchildren, Jacob Johnson and Logan Procknow, as well as his siblings, Cindy Procknow, Krissa Fikac, and Errin Procknow; and WHEREAS, Captain Procknow has served the city of New Braunfels with integrity and dedication, earning the lasting respect and admiration of all who have been privileged to work with him, and it is a pleasure to honor him for his exemplary tenure with the New Braunfels Fire Department as he embarks on this exciting new chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Danny Procknow on the occasion of his retirement from the New Braunfels Fire Department and commend him for more than three decades of service in behalf of New Braunfels-area residents; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Captain Procknow as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
