H.R. No. 870


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gerard "Greg" Mandreger has been named Upshur County emergency management coordinator, an important leadership position for which he is uniquely qualified; and WHEREAS, A lieutenant in the International ALERT Academy near Big Sandy, Greg Mandreger has been affiliated with that organization since 1994, when he was living in Michigan; he has 18 years of law enforcement experience and 13 years of firefighting experience, and he is a recent graduate of the Kilgore College Police Academy; and WHEREAS, In his role with the International ALERT Academy, Lieutenant Mandreger has taught fire training emergency egress and also implemented and directed the organization's first law enforcement training program; his list of certifications is truly impressive and includes several courses related to emergency management; and WHEREAS, An active member of his church, Lieutenant Mandreger also enjoys membership in the Big Sandy Rotary Club; he brings skill, determination, and integrity to his new role as emergency management coordinator, and it is appropriate to take this opportunity to recognize him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Greg Mandreger on being named Upshur County emergency management coordinator and extend best wishes to him for a successful tenure in that role; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Mandreger as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
