H.R. No. 896



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Students of Hedgcoxe Elementary School in Plano gain 
valuable insight into the way in which different people and parts 
come together to function as a system through the operation of the 
school's Chez Snoopy restaurant for one week annually; and
	WHEREAS, Now in its 14th year, this innovative program gives 
some third-grade students the opportunity to serve food to their 
parents, peers, teachers, and officials from across the district, 
while other classmates greet patrons, take orders, bus tables, and 
work the cash register; more than 20 parents volunteered during the 
2005 operation, and the money raised will fund next year's venture; 
and
	WHEREAS, For over a decade, third-grade students of Hedgcoxe 
Elementary have enjoyed a taste of responsibility, adulthood, and 
the working world, and it is a pleasure to recognize their efforts 
and this unique and memorable program; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor the third-grade students of Hedgcoxe 
Elementary School for their participation in Chez Snoopy and 
commend all those who have contributed their time to ensure the 
program's continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
