R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Chuck Tait of Kerrville
were deeply saddened by the passing of this esteemed Texan on March
11, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Born in Houston in 1946, Mr. Tait remained a
lifelong and avid fan of that city's professional sports
franchises; for his education, he attended Texas Tech University,
where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in government and was a
member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity; and
WHEREAS, During the 1970s, he worked as a writer at the Zapata
Corporation in Houston and as sports editor at the Kerrville Daily
Times; in 2004, he retired from his job as senior associate director
of admission at Schreiner University after 23 years of noteworthy
service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tait was a devoted husband, father, and
grandfather, and his memory will long endure in the hearts of those
individuals who were fortunate enough to have known him; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Chuck Tait and extend
sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Lane
Henke Tait; to his children, Caroline and Charles; to his
daughter-in-law, Candice Tait; to his granddaughter, Reagan; to his
sisters, Mary Jane Norcross and Gail Graves; to his brother, James
Tait; to his nieces and nephews; and to his other relatives and many
friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Chuck Tait.
