H.R. No. 929
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to join
the citizens of Corpus Christi in welcoming home members of the 1st
Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, who are
returning from their deployment in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, The 1st Battalion includes Alpha Company, Bravo
Company, Charlie Company, Charlie Company Detachment, and Weapons
Company; and
WHEREAS, The members of this battalion are patriotic
Americans who have made many personal sacrifices to serve in a
foreign land during a time of extreme danger; and
WHEREAS, They have demonstrated exceptional dedication and
courage fighting on behalf of our country's commitment to its
goals; their devotion to duty and selfless service to their country
are truly inspirational; and
WHEREAS, The State of Texas and this nation owe a debt of
gratitude to these brave Marines who have risked their lives in
support of their country; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the valiant members of the 1st
Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, for their
loyal service to their country and extend to all a warm, heartfelt,
and Texas-size welcome on their homecoming; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of highest regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
