R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Texas Federation of College
Republicans has endeavored to inspire a new generation of political
leaders; and
WHEREAS, The TFCR is an organization composed of college
students who are determined and passionate about furthering the
conservative cause and supporting the Republican Party of Texas;
and
WHEREAS, Now a strong force on college campuses throughout
the state, the group nearly tripled its membership from 11
federated university chapters to 32 chapters in one year alone; and
WHEREAS, An active member of the College Republican National
Committee, the TFCR works diligently to encourage young people to
become involved in politics; to that end, members organized
campaign trips in 2004 to Dallas, College Station, Lubbock,
Houston, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and New Mexico to campaign for local,
state, congressional, and presidential candidates; and
WHEREAS, The tireless efforts of these notable young Texans
have helped to strengthen the conservative voice, and their
commendable dedication to their beliefs has increased the political
education and dialogue on campuses across the Lone Star State; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the Texas Federation of College
Republicans for its significant grassroots involvement in
political affairs and extend to its members best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
