R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 70 in University Park is 
commemorating its 80th anniversary in 2005, making it the oldest 
Cub Scout pack in the country; and
	WHEREAS, Sponsored by the University Park Dad's Club, Cub 
Scout Pack 70 was established as a provisional pack, or Cubbie, in 
1925, and was chartered eight years later in 1933; designed for boys 
who are in the first through fifth grades, the Cub Scout program 
promotes character development, spiritual growth, good 
citizenship, sportsmanship and fitness, family understanding, 
respectful relationships, personal achievement, friendly service, 
fun and adventure, and preparation for advancement into the Boy 
Scouts; and
	WHEREAS, For eight decades, Cub Scout Pack 70 has given young 
boys a strong foundation on which to build, and all of its members, 
past and present, take great pride in belonging to the oldest Cub 
Scout troop in the nation; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Cub Scout Pack 70 on its 80th 
anniversary and extend to its members and leaders warmest best 
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Cub Scout Pack 70 as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
