R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., is an organization dedicated to championing the memory of the brave World War II veterans known as the Tuskegee Airmen and to upholding their proud legacy of courage and service; and WHEREAS, The San Antonio Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., (SAC-TAI) is holding its 14th Annual Educational Awards Banquet on May 28, 2005, and the occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize this notable group and the assistance it provides to Texas students; and WHEREAS, Granted to college-bound seniors who excel in math and science, the SAC-TAI Educational Assistance Awards are an apt expression of the organization's efforts to foster high educational standards and to encourage the development of tomorrow's civic leaders; and WHEREAS, In lending the prestige and historical resonance of the Tuskegee Airmen to this important educational effort, SAC-TAI instills in young people an awareness of their part in a larger historical moment, encouraging them to meet the contemporary challenges they face with the same profound dedication and sense of honor that characterized the Tuskegee Airmen; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the 14th Annual Educational Assistance Awards Banquet of the San Antonio Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and extend to all those associated with the banquet sincere best wishes for a successful event.
