R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas Dental Association and Texas Dentists for
Healthy Smiles sponsored the seventh Texas Mission of Mercy in
Williamson County on November 15 and 16, 2004; and
WHEREAS, During that period, the Texas Mission of Mercy
charitable dental clinic administered much-needed oral health care
to more than 850 Williamson County residents; over 80 dentists
volunteered their services at the event, providing charitable care
valued at more than $287,000; and
WHEREAS, Since its founding, the Texas Mission of Mercy has
supplied nearly 6,000 Texans with charitable dental care worth over
$2.2 million; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Dental Association and Texas Dentists for
Healthy Smiles continue to provide those in need with important
access to dental care, thus contributing to the improved health and
well-being of many Texans; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the members of the Texas Dental
Association and Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles for offering
vital dental care to their fellow Texans through the Texas Mission
of Mercy; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for these two groups as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
