R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Jena Segura of Weslaco, whose cousins are deploying 
to Iraq, is helping to lift the spirits of our nation's servicemen 
and servicewomen in Iraq and Afghanistan through her involvement in 
"Project for the Troops"; and
	WHEREAS, Organized by Ms. Segura and Weslaco High School 
classmate Jannice Vela, "Project for the Troops" is a Valley-wide 
effort that began as a pen-pal program, but has evolved into a more 
extensive endeavor to send care packages to soldiers overseas; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Segura is bringing joy and a valuable reminder 
of home to those serving our nation by providing them with  everyday 
comforts that we take for granted, and she truly deserves 
recognition for her initiative and selflessness in behalf of 
others; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Jena Segura for establishing "Project 
for the Troops" to provide comfort and support for our country's 
armed forces and extend to her best wishes for success in this 
noteworthy enterprise; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Segura as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
