R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, College students from across the Lone Star State are
gathering at the Capitol on April 4, 2005, for Texas Collegiate Day;
and
WHEREAS, This occasion affords these notable young men and
women the opportunity to meet with their elected officials and
discuss important issues affecting the state and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, With the 79th Legislative Session well under way,
the State Capitol is a center of great activity; in addition to
addressing questions and concerns about higher education, visiting
students will have an excellent chance to gain insight into the
workings of our state government; and
WHEREAS, In today's increasingly complex world, a college
education is more important than ever before, and providing our
young adults with a strong academic foundation is the single most
essential element of ensuring a brighter future for our state and
nation, and it is indeed a pleasure to welcome these fine college
students to the Capitol and to acknowledge their hard work and
dedication as they pursue their studies; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize April 4, 2005, as Texas Collegiate Day
at the State Capitol and extend to all those involved sincere best
wishes for a memorable and productive visit.
