R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The American Society of Safety Engineers, along with
its Canadian and Mexican counterparts, is co-sponsoring North
American Occupational Safety and Health Week from May 2 to 7, 2005;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the week, members of ASSE will promote
workplace safety programs and encourage companies throughout the
nation to strengthen their commitment to the occupational health
and safety of their employees; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1911, ASSE holds the distinction of being
the oldest and largest professional safety organization; led by a
16-member board of directors, its more than 30,000 members are
dedicated to managing, supervising, and consulting on safety,
health, and environmental issues in industry, insurance,
government, and education; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the American Society of Safety
Engineers has tirelessly striven to ensure the well-being of our
country's workforce and, in so doing, has greatly contributed to
the betterment of our nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the members of the American Society of
Safety Engineers for their efforts in behalf of this nation's
citizens and extend to them sincere best wishes for great success in
heightening awareness of important workplace issues during North
American Occupational Safety and Health Week; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
