H.R. No. 1021
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for
celebration, and on March 12, 2005, Gayle and Nova Reeves of Midland
were joined by their loved ones as they commemorated this
significant milestone in their long and happy marriage; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Reeves and the former Nova Lena Hutson were
married on March 11, 1955, in Hammon, Oklahoma; respected residents
of Midland since 1960, the couple are retired from Calvary Assembly
of God Church, where they pastored for more than three decades; Mr.
Reeves also held a distinguished tenure with Gulf Oil Corporation,
retiring after 28 years as director of human resources; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of their marriage, the Reeves have
been blessed with three children, Debbie Clary, Phyllis Reeves, and
Dennis Reeves, 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS, The enduring union of Mr. and Mrs. Reeves remains a
source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom
they have shared the richness of their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Gayle and Nova Reeves on their 50th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Reeves as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
