R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for
celebration, and on March 19, 2005, Audie and Betty Porter marked
this significant milestone in their long and happy union among
family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Porter and the former Betty Flowers were married
in Midland on March 18, 1955, and since that time, they have been
blessed with six children, Tony Porter, Tammie West, Timothy
Porter, Stephen Porter, Terrie Bennett, and Sandra Grannis, as well
as 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, Currently enjoying retirement, Mr. Porter held a
notable 30-year career with Midland 66 Oil Company, while Mrs.
Porter served a distinguished tenure with West Texas Abstract &
Title Company that spanned more than a decade; and
WHEREAS, This devoted couple's commitment to each other is a
source of inspiration and joy to all those dear to them, and it is
indeed a pleasure to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th wedding anniversary of
Audie and Betty Porter and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Porters as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
