R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Veloria Nanze-Demery of Atlanta, Texas, was recently honored as a Businesswoman of the Year by the National Republican Congressional Committee at a reception held in Washington, D.C., with President George W. Bush in attendance; and WHEREAS, Small businesses provide employment to more than half of the American workforce, and this accolade recognizes the significant role small business owners play in sustaining the livelihood and quality of life of countless individuals; and WHEREAS, Seventeen years ago, Mrs. Nanze-Demery, along with her parents, Lee and Maxine Nanze, and her sister, Dr. Deloria Davis, established TNF Home Health in Atlanta to provide quality health care services to her fellow citizens; since that time, her business has steadily grown and today employs some 250 workers; and WHEREAS, One of only 200 people nationwide to receive this prestigious honor, this esteemed businesswoman sets an exemplary standard of professional achievement, and her contributions to the health care industry and the economy in the Lone Star State are truly commendable; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Veloria Nanze-Demery on being named a Businesswoman of the Year by the National Republican Congressional Committee and extend to her best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Nanze-Demery as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
