R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the profound
sadness felt by the family and friends of Scott Alan Scown of
Alpine, who passed from this life far too soon on August 6, 2003, at
the age of 40; and
WHEREAS, Born on December 14, 1962, Mr. Scown graduated from
Alpine High School and earned his professional chef's degree from
the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York; for
several years, he was employed as a pastry chef at the Dominion
Country Club and various hotels and clubs throughout the San
Antonio area; in 2002, he returned to his native Alpine and accepted
a position with the Bread and Breakfast Restaurant; and
WHEREAS, Known for his delicious cakes, Mr. Scown was a good
friend to many and a caring and kind soul who put others' needs
before his own; and
WHEREAS, A devoted son, brother, and uncle, Scott Scown was a
treasured member of his community and is deeply missed by all those
who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Scott Alan Scown and
extend sympathy to the members of his family: to his parents, Ted
and Emily Scown; to his sisters, Barbara Scown and Paula Morehead;
to his brothers, Steven and Russell Scown; to his nephews, Jeremy
Morehead, Seth Scown, and Justin Scown; to his nieces, Emery and
Allyson Scown; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Scott Alan
Scown.
