R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of John B. Burling, Jr., of
Alpine, were deeply saddened by his passing on August 17, 2004, at
the age of 60; and
WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mr. Burling was born
on May 26, 1944, in El Paso, to Peggy and J. B. Burling, Sr.; he
graduated from Alpine High School and became a self-employed heavy
equipment mechanic; and
WHEREAS, This longtime member of the Alpine community took
pride in his association with the Big Bend Sportsman Club, and he
was known by many for his engaging personality and zest for life;
and
WHEREAS, Above all else, Bud Burling loved his family and
many friends, and though he will be greatly missed by all who knew
him, his memory will live on in the hearts of the many people whose
lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the life of John B. Burling, Jr., and
extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his
daughter, Peggy Jane Low; to his sisters, Connie Springfield and
Ginger Coen; to his brothers, Robert, Chuck, and Ross Burling; to
his grandchildren, Amanda and Levi Low; to his nieces and nephews,
Sharie Moore, Joe Danner, Robert Renn Burling, Ginger Lee Burling,
Bobbi Kay Burling, Ashley King, Jami Burling, Dyane Coen, and Amber
Coen; and to his many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John B.
Burling, Jr.
