R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with many loving moments
and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends
of William C. Donohoo of Alpine, who passed away on March 12, 2005,
at the age of 80; and
WHEREAS, Born on March 30, 1924, in Cincinnati, Ohio,
Mr. Donohoo bravely served his country in World War II as a member
of the U.S. Marine Corps; and
WHEREAS, In 1970, Mr. Donohoo arrived in Alpine to assume
responsibilities as administrator of the Brewster County Hospital,
now the Big Bend Memorial Hospital; he served in this position for
more than a decade and oversaw numerous improvements to the
hospital, each of which has greatly benefited the residents of
Brewster County; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Donohoo was deeply devoted to his adopted
hometown and freely gave of his time and talents to a host of
organizations; a member of the Alpine Rotary Club, he also served as
director of Big Bend Rehabilitation Center for MHMR for three
years; moreover, he was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Peace
Catholic Church, where he was a lay Eucharistic minister for more
than a quarter of a century; and
WHEREAS, Loving husband, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather, Bill Donohoo was an inspiration to all who were
privileged to know him, and although his presence will be greatly
missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives
he so richly blessed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of William C.
Donohoo and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to
his wife of 29 years, Annie Donohoo; to his eight sons; to his four
daughters; to his 25 grandchildren; to his 28 great-grandchildren;
and to all who mourn the passing of this beloved man; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William C.
Donohoo.
