H.R. No. 1081



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Citizens of Converse are joining together on May 14, 
2005, to celebrate "Spring Fest--Blue Star Salute" beneath the 
Converse City Park Pavilion; and
	WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Converse Parks and Recreation 
Commission, American Legion Post 593, and the Sons of the American 
Revolution, this significant event honors active-duty U.S. service 
personnel, members of the Army and Air National Guards, and members 
of the Army, Air Force, Naval, and Marine Reserves, as well as their 
families; and
	WHEREAS, The occasion also provides an opportunity to 
recognize and acknowledge local businesses and organizations that 
have supported the troops; moreover, "Spring Fest" promotes 
awareness of the Blue Star Banner program, the Family Support 
Network, the Reconnect Program, and the American Legacy 
Scholarship; and
	WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to all the members of 
the nation's armed forces, for they are called on to bear great, 
often unimaginable burdens, and their courage, professionalism, 
and unfaltering commitment to duty are deserving of their fellow 
citizens' deepest respect and gratitude; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby recognize "Spring Fest--Blue Star Salute" and 
extend best wishes to all those involved with this strong show of 
support for our troops.
