H.R. No. 1085



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Afamia El-Nakat of El Paso completed her doctorate 
in environmental science and engineering at The University of Texas 
at El Paso, and is employed as an environmental engineer with CH2M, 
an international environmental services consulting firm; and
	WHEREAS, Her research is concentrated on sustainable water 
resource management, the economic impact of water distribution and 
allocation, and bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and 
its application to environmentally sound public policy; and
	WHEREAS, This exceptional professional takes an active role 
with the Desert Mountain Chapter of the American Water Works 
Association; already fluent in English and Arabic, she is working 
on becoming trilingual and is learning Spanish; and
	WHEREAS, Afamia El-Nakat demonstrates an unwavering 
dedication to bettering the lives of the individuals in her 
community and beyond, and it is most appropriate that she be 
recognized at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Afamia El-Nakat for her commitment to 
environmental services and extend to her sincere best wishes for 
success and fulfillment in the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. El-Nakat as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
