R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Ten-year-old Shay Lyn Mulligan of El Paso has 
demonstrated maturity beyond her years, and her efforts to protect 
the well-being of others are deserving of praise; and
	WHEREAS, This fifth-grade honor student at Mitzi Bond 
Elementary School serves her peers as a member of the Safety Patrol, 
protecting boys, girls, and adults as they cross the street; as 
captain, Miss Mulligan is also responsible for making sure other 
patrol members are at their designated posts; and
	WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Valerie and Craig 
Mulligan, she enjoys art and participating in the music club; and
	WHEREAS, Miss Mulligan is a public-spirited young woman who 
faces a future bright with promise, and she is truly worthy of 
special recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Shay Lyn Mulligan for her service as 
Safety Patrol captain at Mitzi Bond Elementary School and extend to 
her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Miss Mulligan as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
