R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Cindy Anaya of Ysleta High School in El Paso won
first place at the regional cook-off for The Art Institute's Best
Teen Chef 2005 scholarship competition; and
WHEREAS, A student in the Riverside culinary arts program,
Ms. Anaya won a $2,000 scholarship and advances to the final
national competition in May, where she will compete against 18
other regional winners for the title of Best Teen Chef 2005; and
WHEREAS, Open to high school seniors in the United States and
Canada, the Best Teen Chef competition encourages and nurtures
young culinary talent and awards more than $200,000 in scholarship
prizes; the student who wins the national competition will receive
a full-tuition scholarship worth more than $30,000 to study
culinary arts at The Art Institute; and
WHEREAS, With natural talent and hard work, Cindy Anaya has
consistently excelled in the art of food preparation, and she is
most deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Cindy Anaya on winning first place
at the regional cook-off for Best Teen Chef 2005 and extend to her
sincere best wishes for success in the national competition; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Anaya as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
