R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Justin Churchman, a sixth-grader at St. Clement's Episcopal Parish School in El Paso, was among 200 United States middle school students invited to the recent Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Boston; and WHEREAS, Titled "The Legacy of American Leadership," the gathering informed attendees about our nation's leaders and provided activities to help participants develop their own leadership skills; conference events included educational activities, visits to area landmarks, and presentations led by high achievers in various disciplines; and WHEREAS, With extracurricular interests that include Boy Scouts, the student council, and his school's speech and chess clubs and basketball team, this notable young Texan also assists with Christian education classes for first-graders at St. Mark's United Methodist Church and earned a coveted spot as goalkeeper for a Florida U12 soccer team that was invited to play in an international tournament in Manchester, England; and WHEREAS, Justin Churchman is on his way to becoming an active community leader, and is it appropriate to take this opportunity to recognize him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Justin Churchman on being invited to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Churchman as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
