R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Odis Ray Hill of Longview were deeply saddened by the passing of this distinguished attorney on April 1, 2005, at the age of 62; and WHEREAS, Born on September 23, 1942, in Mount Vernon, Illinois, and raised in Kilgore, Mr. Hill attended The University of Texas at Austin and then earned his law degree from Baylor University; he practiced law in Longview for 38 years, serving as district attorney from 1974 to 1981; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hill positively influenced the lives of his family and friends, giving them many happy times and cherished memories, and he will be profoundly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Odis Ray Hill and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Jean; to his son, Ryan Hill and his wife, Heather; to his daughters, Robin O'Donoghue and her husband, Clive, and Alexis Summers and her husband, Bud; to his grandchildren, Brooks, Watson, Carter, Noah, Evelyn, and Jane; to his sister, Dorothy Forth; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Odis Ray Hill.
