H.R. No. 1134
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Nicole Hollins of El Paso was recognized for her
outstanding service to the community when she received the Martin
Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award for kindness toward others and
volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, Daughter of proud parents Dave and Kathy Hollins,
this outstanding high school senior at Chapin High School helped
collect food for the needy at Thanksgiving and Christmas and
assisted in building houses with Habitat for Humanity; she also
assisted with having a dinner for the soldiers of the 92nd Cavalry
before they were deployed to Iraq; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hollins has demonstrated an unwavering
commitment to the betterment of the lives of her fellow Texans, and
her receipt of the prestigious Martin Luther King, Jr.,
Humanitarian Award is a fitting recognition of her exemplary work;
she is both a role model for other young people and a source of
tremendous pride to her family, school, and community; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Nicole Hollins for her receipt of the
Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award for her service to the
community and extend to her sincere best wishes for future success
and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Hollins as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
