R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Vanessa Romero of El Paso has achieved excellence in 
the sport of track and field, and she may take justifiable pride in 
her accomplishments; and
	WHEREAS, A junior at Montwood High School who stands five 
feet, five inches tall, this exceptional student-athlete won gold 
in the 100-meter hurdle, high jump, and triple jump events, as well 
as the 800-meter and 1,600-meter relays at the Clint Invitational; 
in addition, she recently cleared a personal best of five feet, two 
inches in the high jump; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Romero has demonstrated the skill and physical 
stamina of a true champion, and her achievements are an apt 
reflection of her commitment to excellence and hard work; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Vanessa Romero for her 
accomplishments in the sport of track and field and extend to her 
warmest best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Romero as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
