R E S O L U T I O N

Airborne Division, bravely served this nation during World War II
and are meeting in North Texas in September 2005 for their 30th
reunion; and
WHEREAS, Devoted to liberty and to their country, these

answer this nation's call to arms; placing themselves directly in
harm's way, time and again they endured great, often unimaginable
burdens and rendered service and sacrifice that is truly beyond
measure; and
WHEREAS, While fulfilling their duty overseas, this valorous
group of paratroopers jumped into Normandy on D-Day and fought for
32 days before being relieved; as part of Operation Market Garden,
they then parachuted into Holland, where they fought for nearly two
months before their commanders realized they had gone "a bridge too
far"; and
WHEREAS, Indispensable contributors to the Battle of the
Bulge, they helped to stop the Germans from taking the important

until the end of the war; and
WHEREAS, The men of C Company played a vital role in securing
final victory for our nation during World War II, and as they join
together to celebrate their 30th reunion, it is indeed fitting that
these members of America's Greatest Generation be given the
legislative recognition that they so richly deserve; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the men of C Company, 506th Regiment,
