R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Colleyville Covenant Christian Academy boys basketball team has achieved noteworthy success on the hardwood by winning the TAPPS Class 2A state championship title; and WHEREAS, With three consecutive trips to the TAPPS semifinals, the Colleyville Cougars scored a 46-43 victory over Hill Country Christian to claim the school's first-ever state championship crown; and WHEREAS, Ably schooled in the finer points of the sport by Coach Rod Butler, these outstanding student-athletes demonstrated the determination and physical prowess of true champions throughout the state tournament, and the memory of this achievement will remain with them for years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Colleyville Covenant Christian Academy boys basketball team for winning the TAPPS Class 2A state championship and extend to its coach and players best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
