R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life of joyful moments and meaningful
accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of Manuel
"Cougar" Fierro, Jr., of Alpine, who passed away on June 12, 2004;
and
WHEREAS, Born on October 20, 1966, Mr. Fierro was a graduate
of Alpine High School and attended Sul Ross State University;
involved in the community, he was a 4th Degree Knight with the
Knights of Columbus, a band booster, and a member of the Society of
St. Vincent de Paul and the hospitality ministry at the Catholic
church; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fierro was a coach for the Big Bend Little League
and the Big Bend Amateur Softball Association as well; also active
with the Boy Scouts, he served as an assistant den leader for a
hometown troop; and
WHEREAS, A loving and devoted son, brother, and uncle and a
warm-hearted friend, Mr. Fierro contributed greatly to his
community, and he is deeply missed by all those who were privileged
to know him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Manuel Fierro and
extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his mother,
Delia Fierro; to his sister, Victoria Fierro; to his brothers,
Samuel Fierro and his wife, Annabelle, Randy Fierro and his wife,
Lillia, Bobby Fierro and his wife, Mercy, and Gary Fierro and his
wife, Grace; to his 11 nieces and nephews; and to his other
relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Manuel
Fierro, Jr.
