R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Pearland 2004-2005 are visiting the State Capitol on April 20 and 21, 2005; and WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, the Pearland group is part of a national leadership program in which participants attend day-long sessions over a nine-month period to learn more about such significant issues as government affairs, economic development, social needs, and other key components of their community; the program brings together professional Texans who wish to assume leadership positions and expand their involvement in their community; and WHEREAS, This year's Pearland class is composed of nine individuals who represent a diverse array of backgrounds and disciplines, and they include: Darrell Diggs of Data Just Data, Inc.; Dawna Weber of the community's Parks and Recreation Department; Deanna Johnson of United Way of Brazoria County; Henry Stanaland of Pre-Paid Legal Services; Keith Blasingame of ProActive Physical Therapy Centers; Kyle Peipelman of Washington Mutual Bank; Renea Ivy of Pearland ISD; Rick Torrison of House of Prayer Pearland; and Sherrell J. Littrell of The Benefits Connection; and WHEREAS, Endeavoring to build a more informed and involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, this invaluable program, and all those associated with it, are helping to ensure a bright future for the citizens of Pearland; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby recognize the members of Leadership Pearland 2004-2005 and extend to them sincere best wishes for an educational and enjoyable visit to the seat of Texas government; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Leadership Pearland participants as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
