H.R. No. 1168
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Public-spirited women from throughout the Lone Star
State are gathering in Austin to celebrate the Texas Federation of
Republican Women Legislative Day at the Capitol on April 14, 2005,
and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize the
myriad contributions of those individuals present on this day from
the Dallas County Council; and
WHEREAS, The members of this notable organization strive to
encourage participation in the political process while actively
supporting Republican candidates, providing strength and unity for
political action and encouraging Republican women to run for
office; and
WHEREAS, The Dallas County Council also enables Republican
women of North Texas to demonstrate both their support and concerns
regarding the way in which government manages such critical issues
as health, crime, education, taxes, and financial security; and
WHEREAS, Participants have volunteered untold hours to
Republican Party candidates, chairing campaigns, directing phone
banks, coordinating rallies, and handling countless other crucial
responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, The dedication, hard work, and perseverance of these
remarkable Texans have helped to ensure the election of their
candidates to numerous offices; their accomplishments have
increased the political awareness and effectiveness of thousands of
women by persuading them that their participation in the political
process is important and makes a difference; and
WHEREAS, Under the able guidance of its leaders, the Dallas
County Council will continue to assure a leadership role for
members of the Republican Party at the local, state, and national
levels; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the Dallas County Council of the Texas
Federation of Republican Women as its members commemorate their
legislative day and commend all those involved for their exemplary
service; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Dallas County Council as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
