No. 1170R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Memories of many joyful moments and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of Ana Maria Rodriguez de Lopez of Houston, who passed away on December 16, 2004, at the age of 65; and WHEREAS, Born on January 12, 1939, in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mrs. Lopez was a dedicated leader in the Hispanic community and a tireless worker for political and civic causes in the city of Houston; and WHEREAS, This esteemed woman maintained active membership with countless organizations, including Harris County Early Voting, Jeff Davis Hispanic Alumni, La Paz Charitable Association, Northside Redevelopment, and Familias Unidades; she also served as a teacher's aide for the Houston Independent School District and head chaperone for St. Thomas High School; and WHEREAS, A beloved and much-treasured wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Lopez will be sincerely missed by all those who were privileged to know her and by those who were affected by her commitment and contributions to her community of Houston; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ana Maria Rodriguez de Lopez and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband of 47 years, Jose R. Lopez; to her sons, Marco Antonio Lopez, Jose R. Lopez II and his wife, Karla, and Carlos Manuel Lopez and his wife, Amy; to her sister, Mary Lu Rodriguez de Levy and her husband, Mauricio; to her brother-in-law, Bernard J. Lopez and his wife, Susan; to her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lauren, Lindsey, Sarah, Zachary, and Jacob; to her great-grandson, Anthony; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ana Maria Rodriguez de Lopez.
