R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
celebration, and on March 25, 2005, retired Lieutenant Colonel 
Lester Dale Griffith and Joyce Garrett Griffith of Mineola marked 
this significant event in their lives with a family dinner and an 
open house at the Mineola Civic Center; and
	WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Griffith and the former Joyce 
Garrett were joined in marriage on March 25, 1955, in Mustang, 
Oklahoma; since that time, they have been blessed with three sons 
and daughters-in-law, Weldon and Glenda Griffith, Mike and Karen 
Griffith, and Bob and Nicki Griffith, a daughter and son-in-law, 
Terri and Karl Saldana, and nine grandchildren, Jamie, Ashley, 
Lindsey, Garrett, Ella, and Ike Griffith, and Sara, David, and Katy 
Jo Saldana; and
	WHEREAS, Respected residents of Mineola, Lieutenant Colonel 
Griffith is a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Mrs. Griffith 
is retired from a respected career with Mineola Medical and 
Surgical Clinic; and
	WHEREAS, In retirement, the Griffiths are active in the 
community as valued members of Mineola Broad Street Church of 
Christ; their love and commitment to one another remain an 
inspiration to all who know them, and it is a great privilege to 
join in honoring them at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate retired Lieutenant Colonel Lester 
Dale Griffith and Joyce Garrett Griffith on the joyous occasion of 
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best 
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the Griffiths as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
