R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Edgar Clark III, a senior at DeSoto High School, is a 
gifted student whose abilities have led him to excel in school and 
extracurricular activities and in community service; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Clark has served his fellow pupils on the 
student council and balanced his many responsibilities with 
participation in the varsity cross country team and other 
organizations; Mu Alpha Theta, the Business Professionals of 
America, the National Honor Society, and the Fellowship of 
Christian Athletes have all benefited from his contributions; and
	WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has received a host of 
well-deserved accolades for his outstanding leadership skills and 
dedication, including a Golden Eagle award, first-place 
recognition with Alpha Rho at the Regional Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., 
Kudos Competition, and three Shining Star awards from DeSoto High 
School; and
	WHEREAS, He has lent his time to serve such worthy 
initiatives as the Youth Group Food Drive, Toys for Tots, nursing 
home Christmas caroling, and the DeSoto High School recycling 
center; and
	WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he has been sustained by his 
religious faith; an active member of the Community Bible Church 
Youth Group, he has shared his devotion with countless others as a 
Passionate Praise Ensemble member, as a Community Bible Church 
Praise Dancer, and as the founder and leader of Peers of Purpose; 
and
	WHEREAS, Edgar Clark III has demonstrated exceptional 
wisdom, initiative, and maturity in successfully pursuing a variety 
of academic and civic goals, and he is indeed deserving of special 
recognition for his many achievements; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor Edgar Clark III on his many 
accomplishments and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued 
success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Clark as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
