R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Bob Brock, head coach of the Sam Houston State University Bearkats softball team, has achieved a notable milestone by logging his 800th career victory, and this impressive accomplishment offers a fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed coach and educator; and WHEREAS, Coach Brock's 800th win came on February 27, 2005, when the Bearkats defeated Birmingham Southern by the score of 2-0; with this win, he joined a group of just 22 coaches in NCAA softball history who have notched at least 800 wins; and WHEREAS, A veteran of 21 years as a head coach, he has won three national titles and numerous awards while heading the softball programs at Baylor University, Texas A&M University, and his alma mater, Sam Houston State University; and WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career, Coach Brock has demonstrated the attributes necessary for coaching success at the collegiate level, and by reaching the 800-victory plateau, he has confirmed his place among coaching's elite; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Bob Brock on his 800th career coaching victory and commend him for his many years of hard work and dedication in the pursuit of excellence; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Coach Brock as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
