R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gloria Aguilera Terry of El Paso is making a positive difference in the struggle against domestic abuse in her role as executive director of the Center Against Family Violence; and WHEREAS, Under her able leadership, the center provides family abuse victims with emergency shelter, crisis intervention, advocacy, support, therapy, and referrals for other services; and WHEREAS, This notable woman is not only devoted to helping those suffering from abuse, but she is also committed to working towards the eradication of this insidious problem from our society altogether; although most of the center's current services are reactive, Ms. Terry hopes the organization will serve as a catalyst for change through education and prevention efforts; and WHEREAS, Gloria Terry has brought hope to countless area Texans, offering them a safe haven and providing them with the skills necessary to overcome tragic events; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commend Gloria Aguilera Terry for her invaluable contributions to the citizens of El Paso as executive director of the Center Against Family Violence and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Terry as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
