No. 1203R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ruben Vogt of Canutillo has been named a 2005 Truman Scholar for his notable leadership abilities and public service, and he is truly deserving of special recognition; and WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade includes a $30,000 scholarship that may be applied toward graduate studies, law school, or medical school; and WHEREAS, A 2002 alumnus of Canutillo High School, Mr. Vogt is a junior at The University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in American literature and political science; he maintains a 3.6 grade point average; and WHEREAS, This exemplary young man devoted his spring break to working on two civic service fellowships as well as planning an upcoming convention for the Texas Young Democrats; and WHEREAS, Ruben Vogt demonstrates exceptional dedication to his academic career and his community, and he is an impressive role model for people of all ages across the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Ruben Vogt for his selection as a 2005 Truman Scholar and extend to him sincere best wishes for future success and fulfillment; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Vogt as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
