R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Oscar Rodriguez, a longtime educator and
administrator in Texas, was unanimously elected as the
superintendent of Mission Consolidated Independent School
District, and the selection of this esteemed gentleman will
undoubtedly benefit the district's students, faculty, and staff;
and
WHEREAS, A Corpus Christi native, Mr. Rodriguez previously
served as superintendent and associate superintendent for
legislative affairs with the United Independent School District in
Laredo; moreover, he was affiliated with the Dallas Independent
School District for 27 years, teaching at the elementary and
secondary levels before becoming superintendent and accepting the
responsibility of overseeing some 34,000 students in 35 schools;
and
WHEREAS, Recognized for his expertise as an instructor and
his ability to create dynamic and effective curricula, Mr.
Rodriguez will diligently work to meet the myriad challenges
associated with this demanding administrative post, and it is a
pleasure to honor him on being named superintendent of Mission
CISD; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Oscar Rodriguez on his selection as
superintendent of Mission Consolidated Independent School District
and extend best wishes to him for a successful and memorable tenure
in that role; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
