H.R. No. 1248



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
celebration, and on April 2, 2005, Don and Pauletta McConathy of 
Mineola marked this significant milestone in their long and happy 
marriage; and
	WHEREAS, Married in Grand Prairie on April 1, 1955, this 
loving couple have been blessed with a family that includes two 
children, Patti Burrow and her husband, Vance, and James McConathy 
and his wife, Elnara, five grandchildren, Wendi Rice, Kristi 
Ammons, Jesse McConathy, Jeremy McConathy, and Nikki Burrow, and 
three great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Avarie Rice and Kara Ammons; 
and
	WHEREAS, Mr. McConathy, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, 
held a distinguished 30-year tenure with Darr Caterpillar Company, 
while his wife helped to educate the children of Irving ISD for more 
than two decades; taking full advantage of retirement, they enjoy 
traveling in their motor home and working with the Texas Baptist 
Camp builders; and
	WHEREAS, The enduring union of Mr. and Mrs. McConathy remains 
a source of joy and inspiration to their family and all who know 
them, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor these fine Texans at this 
time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Don and Pauletta McConathy on their 
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for 
continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McConathy as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
