R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Kingwood High School girls' cross-country team has captured its sixth state title, a feat unmatched by any other cross-country team in the state; and WHEREAS, Capping a stellar season, the Lady Mustangs competed in their 15th consecutive state finals competition and earned their third state crown in four years; and WHEREAS, Schooled in the sport's fundamentals by Coach John Barr, who instilled in his student-athletes the values of hard work, dedication, and good sportsmanship, the Kingwood girls' cross-country team demonstrated the speed, endurance, and skill of true champions; the school's talented team members include Elizabeth Alexander, Lauren Bonds, Kristen Hanselka, Stefanie Hanselka, Megan Munoz, Danielle Selner, and Brenna Williamson; and WHEREAS, The Lady Mustangs have completed another remarkable season, the memory of which will remain with them for years to come, and they may take great pride in their impressive achievements; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Kingwood High School girls' cross-country team and Coach John Barr for winning the 2004-2005 UIL 5A State Championship and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
