H.R. No. 1269


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of Alpine native Tom Connor, Jr., who passed away on December 27, 2002, at the age of 50; and WHEREAS, Mr. Connor graduated with honors from Alpine High School in 1971 and was an outstanding football player; he served three years in the U.S. Air Force and later lived in Austin; and WHEREAS, After returning to Alpine, Mr. Connor was a founding partner in Rainbow Adobe Construction; in the late 1980s, he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he helped to found Gaddis Connor Construction, and he later worked as the general contractor for Monastery of Christ in the Desert; Mr. Connor spent much of the five years before his death living and working at the monastery; and WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan and cherished friend to many is deeply missed, but his spirit continues to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Tom Connor, Jr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his father, Tom Connor, Sr.; to his brother, Doug Connor; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tom Connor, Jr. Gallego ______________________________ Speaker of the House I certify that H.R.
