R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Students from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic
School in Dallas are visiting the State Capitol on April 28, 2005;
and
WHEREAS, Ably led by principal Patrick Magee, St. Elizabeth
School is an exceptional learning facility that strives to provide
the academic, spiritual, and social environment needed to enrich
and enhance the lives of its students; and
WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1958, the institution has
grown from 27 to an enrollment of more than 400 students and has
developed a solid reputation for academic excellence,
state-of-the-art technology, Christian values, sound discipline
practices, and community service; and
WHEREAS, The seventh grade students visiting today are:
Brianna Aranda, Jessica Ashcraft, Giovanni Burciaga, Kaleb Burton,
Michael Caballero, Christopher Cervenka, Jalisa Fragoso, Ben
Galichia, Alexis Gillum, Kelli Grashel, Sarah Hammonds, Allison
Janik, Kayla Joseph, Ryan Jury, R. J. Leal, Ashley Martinez,
Jonathan Matamoros, Daniel Matus, Judson Meshack, Brittney Nash,
Mary Oeftering, Laura Owens, Martin Paz, Emily Price, Kevin Ramos,
Adam Steiger, Geneinde Taylor-Edwards, Jasmine Tompkins, Patricia
Maria Trevino, and Jasmine Webb; and
WHEREAS, Accompanied by social studies teacher Julie Luke,
these young men and women will have a chance to tour the Capitol and
learn more about its fascinating history; the collection of art and
documentation housed on the Capitol grounds also provides an
exceptional source of information for those interested in the role
of state government and the chronicles of our great state; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Capitol is an ideal setting for young and
old alike to explore the rich past of the Lone Star State and to gain
insight into the workings of our state legislature, and it is a
pleasure to welcome these notable students at this time; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the visiting class from St. Elizabeth of
Hungary Catholic School on their interest in state government and
extend to them sincere best wishes for an informative and memorable
visit to the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
