R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The congregants of New Life United Pentecostal Church in Mineola take great pride in their beloved spiritual leader, Brother James Renfro, Sr., and on April 10, 2005, they celebrated his 50th anniversary in the ministry; and WHEREAS, Since answering the call to ministerial service in 1955, Brother Renfro has focused his time and talents on his work as pastor, evangelist, and missionary, and he has led congregations in Winnsboro, Greggton, and Greenville, building new houses of worship in the last two cities, and during the late 1980s, he made seven trips to Brazil to preach; and WHEREAS, Since stepping into the pulpit at New Life United Pentecostal Church in 1993, where his mother, 94-year-old Addie Renfro worships as a member, Brother Renfro purchased property at Highway 37 and Loop 564 where the present church home was erected in 1998; further, he founded a Christian school for grades 1-12 that continues to flourish; and WHEREAS, A devoted family man as well as a dedicated pastor, Brother Renfro no doubt derives great inspiration and support from his wife of 53 years, the former Peggy Mock, and takes great pride in his three children, Pamela Sue Carter, Jamie Allene Barbaria, and James Allen Renfro, Jr., his eight grandchildren, and his two great-granddaughters; and WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Brother Renfro has demonstrated a deep commitment to his faith, his family, and his community, and his five decades of service to the Lord merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commend Brother James Renfro, Sr., for his 50 years of service as a minister and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued fulfillment and success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Brother Renfro as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
