R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lauren Pierce has deservedly been named the 2005
Cherokee County Junior Livestock Show Queen; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Alto FFA, Ms. Pierce earned 97 of a
possible 100 points in the contest for the title, which included
such diverse activities as fund-raising, interviews, membership
sales, show participation, meeting attendance, and a
western-attire competition; and
WHEREAS, This year is Ms. Pierce's third as a contestant, and
her outstanding achievement is a tribute to her diligence,
commitment, and talent, as well as to the steadfast support of her
parents, Kevin and Tessa Pierce; and
WHEREAS, In demonstrating the abilities required of a winning
contestant, Ms. Pierce has also distinguished herself as a talented
young Texan of great promise, and we join her friends and admirers
in saluting her many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Lauren Pierce on being named the 2005
Cherokee County Junior Livestock Show Queen and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Pierce as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
