R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, For five years, Larry Morgan has been a vital member of the Jacksonville community, serving as president of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and chief executive officer of economic development; and WHEREAS, Mr. Morgan began his tenure with the chamber in 2000 and has since been a vigorous advocate for the residents of Jacksonville, promoting area events and championing local businesses and organizations; he has forged strong relationships with the city government and with state agencies, such as TXDOT, to maintain tourism and economic development in the Cherokee County area; this esteemed professional has also brought to fruition a host of community projects, including Love's Lookout, a state-of-the-art information center and rest area; and WHEREAS, Before moving to Jacksonville, this graduate of the University of North Texas served as the parks and recreation director for the cities of Euless and Tyler; with his departure he leaves behind a legacy of goodwill and professionalism, and he will no doubt bring the same energy and commitment to his new position as city manager of Bullard; and WHEREAS, Larry Morgan has worked tirelessly in behalf of the citizens of Jacksonville, and as he prepares to embark on a new phase in his career, it is a pleasure to recognize him for his myriad accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commend Larry Morgan for the invaluable contributions he has made to the Jacksonville community as president of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and chief executive officer of economic development and extend to him sincere best wishes for success in his new post; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Morgan as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
