R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of
Mary Alice Province, who passed away on January 22, 2004, at the age
of 67; and
WHEREAS, Born on June 19, 1936, this longtime resident of
Horizon City was a beloved educator and ably served the students of
the Clint School District for more than three decades; whether
working as a business teacher or as the Clint High School librarian,
Ms. Province enriched the lives of students and teachers alike; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Province was a valued member of Holy Spirit
Catholic Church and drew great strength and sustenance from her
faith; and
WHEREAS, Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother,
Mary Alice Province was a woman of strength and kindness; although
she is deeply missed, her memory lives on in the hearts of those
whose lives she so richly blessed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Mary Alice
Province and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
to her children, Paul R. Province and his wife, Pat, Lieutenant
Colonel Evelyn Anne Rockwell and her husband, Dave, and Glenda L.
Albertson and her husband, Dan; to her grandsons, Paul Province III
and Alex Rockwell; to her great-grandson, Zachary Province; and to
all who mourn the passing of this much-loved woman; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Alice
Province.
