R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Ramon Gutierrez on January 22, 2004,
at the age of 73, brought a loss that is profoundly felt by his
family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Loving husband, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather, Mr. Gutierrez was proud of his role as the
patriarch of a large and close-knit family; and
WHEREAS, Although Mr. Gutierrez is greatly missed, his memory
lives on in the hearts of those whose lives he so richly blessed;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Ramon
Gutierrez and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family:
to his wife of 52 years, Carmen Gutierrez; to his sons, Ramon Jr.
and his wife, Su, Tony and his wife, Teri, Richard and his wife,
Idelia, Francisco and his wife, Irma, and David Gutierrez; to his
daughters, Marti Gutierrez, Isela Olvera and her husband, Robert,
and Rachel Benitez and her husband, Carlos; to his 28 grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren; to his other loved ones, Jose
Gutierrez, Jesusita Salinas, and Emma Vasquez; and to all who mourn
the passing of this much-loved man; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ramon
Gutierrez.
