H.R. No. 1408
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Josephine Hadley celebrated her 70th birthday on
April 20, 2005, and this significant milestone offers a fitting
opportunity to recognize this esteemed woman; and
WHEREAS, Born Josephine Elois Davis in New Orleans on April
20, 1935, she married her childhood sweetheart, Thomas Hadley, and
moved to San Antonio, where she raised five children: Thomas,
Sylvia, Timothy, Rosalind, and David; and
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Hadley has served as
treasurer of R.O.B.B.E.D. and helped organize the neighborhood
watch program in the Willow Park/Coliseum area; and
WHEREAS, For more than 25 years, Mrs. Hadley was the first
lady of Willow Park Christian Church, serving alongside her
husband, who was the pastor; today, she serves as chairman of the
board and treasurer and is responsible for the church's finances;
and
WHEREAS, Josephine Hadley is a role model for young and old
alike, and her continuing service in support of her fellow citizens
has rightfully earned her the respect and admiration of her family,
friends, and neighbors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Josephine Hadley on the occasion of her
70th birthday and extend best wishes to her for many more years of
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Hadley as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
